Writing Workshop; using text messages as a prompt re; intimacy

 "My dear

Fine

I bought a lot of sweet stuff in Lidl

and I am having the time of my life listening to music"

I'd asked how you were.

Somehow we share a Lidl, used to share socks, but I now know nothing about you.

What I do know is you're getting chocolate croissants in those rustling paper bags and rainbow belts.

You're listening to the Charlie Brown Christmas album.

Are you a good friend, family, my inner child? Are you perfection?

"Sounds like a lovely day"

Time with you and the small comforts, you share your joys with me. I know you cast no shadow.

I can't use my phone in this rain. The wet will make ghost letters appear. I will only bump into people if distracted. It stayed in my pocket this whole time. Who am I updating here?

"Going home to get into socks, I need some cosey"

You take over my legs, I turn left.

Air conditioning gives me a break from the weather and I trace the isles that I imagine we'd do groceries in.

I try to know you here, it doesn't work.
